In-Home Tutoring
All in-person tutoring is conducted one-on-one in the student’s home or at a mutually agreed upon public location, such as a library or school (We also offer online tutoring). Tutoring customarily lasts two hours, a time-frame that allows maximum productivity and builds necessary stamina for long standardized testing periods. Tutors are trained to quickly identify and address weak areas, which then become the partial basis for required weekly homework assignments. We strongly urge weekly sessions over a period of 10 or more weeks, depending on the needs of the student. It is a well-researched fact that this type of consistency builds momentum and further ensures effectiveness. While sessions are designed to function at the highest level of rigor and productivity, they all embody the virtues of caring and genuine camaraderie. We are able to achieve these effects by generating a comprehensive student profile, which we use as a basis to match a student with the most compatible tutor. The right match makes the session a welcome experience for the student and tutor, thereby accelerating the student’s progress.
